At Interpack, we are proud to announce the relaunch of the sustainable ice cream container, incorporating new attributes that distinguish the packaging, optimize its functionality, and reinforce its value proposition as a sustainable alternative to traditional expanded polystyrene containers.
The cardboard ice cream container features an internal barrier suitable for ice cream, which resists moisture and the migration of fats inherent to the product, ensuring a safe and pleasant consumption experience, 100% free of plastic laminates. Additionally, our facility holds FSSC22000 certification, which certifies it to manufacture packaging suitable for direct contact with food.
In this relaunch, the container incorporates a microcorrugated structure that reinforces its rigidity and enhances its thermal performance. In this way, better ice cream preservation is achieved without sacrificing its recyclable and biodegradable character in less than 18 months.
The possibility of customization through full-color printing is also added, which expands brand communication opportunities, strengthening the connection with the consumer. Thus, the packaging goes beyond its operational function to become a branding tool, aligned with values of innovation and environmental commitment.
From a functional standpoint, the design of the cardboard ice cream container was optimized to offer better space utilization in freezers and to include the lid as an integral part of the packaging, which facilitates storage and optimizes operations in ice cream shops. Likewise, its rectangular shape allows for better separation of flavors, which enhances not only the product presentation but also the consumption experience.
These additions represent an evolution in a container that already stood out in the market for its sustainability and for offering a more responsible alternative to one of the most relevant environmental issues associated with ice cream consumption: the use of single-use containers that take hundreds of years to degrade.

In this case, the challenge was to optimize the ice cream consumption experience through sustainable packaging, understanding the real conditions of delivery and take away,” they note from the department. “Each design decision was oriented toward reducing environmental impact without compromising operability for ice cream shops, so it is not just about replacing materials, but about developing products that function as well as or better than traditional alternatives.”
Based on this approach, the cardboard ice cream container is positioned as a comprehensive solution that combines functionality, branding, and environmental commitment. While the packaging printing captures customer attention and generates brand recall, the structural design optimizes storage space and improves product preservation, providing logistical efficiency and a pleasant user experience for both the business and the end consumer.
The sustainable ice cream container, while customizable, has its generic version that is marketed through the BIOHZ product line, which was created with the objective of manufacturing sustainable packaging that functions as an alternative to single-use plastic disposables. Thus, in a context like Argentina, where per capita ice cream consumption is high, the adoption of recyclable and biodegradable packaging represents a concrete opportunity to reduce waste generation and promote more responsible consumption models.
